In the 1950s there was no way to mow slopes without compromising performance. So Alfred Schefenacker, an inventor living in southern Germany, designed a two-stroke engine to power the first Allmaher mower on the steep and narrow slopes of the local vines. The first Allmaher mower went into production in 1961 and remains one of the best-selling products today.
