In 1954 Jonsered launched its first chainsaw, the Racket model. This launch started a success story and made Jonsered a major name in the global forestry equipment market for many years. In 1979, Jonsered was purchased by Electrolux, but about fifteen years later Electrolux abandoned its outdoor equipment division and Jonsered became part of the Husqvarna Group.
